At work, we just created a pond in order to restore a wetland. It's been fascinating seeing the process of how a pond forms: filling up water from the water table, the bugs move in within hours, the frogs move in within a day, algae starts to bloom within two days, bird tracks throughout because of bugs and frogs, and plants strarting to grow already - and it's only been a week. Here's one of our first visitors, who reinforced what every swim teacher's ever told their students: blow bubbles when you're underwater. I don't really think this frog needs to, since it is an amphibian, but it's still kinda a neat shot:
