Lens at 9 Months

Lena,
You are 9 months old today! You're going to be 1 before we know it. In fact, it's very difficult for me to remember that you're not already 1. Because you walk well, I keep referring to you as a toddler. Are you officially a toddler when you turn 1 or when you start walking?

At 9 Months, you:
-walk well. And everywhere. You rarely crawl ever. Two weeks ago we were referring to you as "Godzilla" because of your clunky gait. You've already outgrown that nickname.
-just got your third and fourth teeth! They were in the midst of breaking through last night. Which mean you woke up 7 times over the course of 11 hours. It's a good thing you're cute and snugly.
-have grown a little bit this month. You are 19.5 lb (50th percentile) and about 29 inches long (97th percentile). Since you're about the height of most children at 1 year and all torso, we had to transition you to a convertible car seat this month. I miss the convenience of the baby carrier but my arm does not miss carrying you. Plus, the cup holders in the new car seat are so convenient! On longer drives, we just put a bottle of milk in there and you feed yourself when you're hungry. No reaching or crawling back there. It's awesome!
-are in a grabby faze. You like grabbing other kids' hair - your cousins' in particular. Neither 3 week old Piper nor 2 year old Ainsley love it, but they rolled with it.
-have a sense of humor. Your dad can make you laugh with funny faces and you've started laughing when you hear other people laugh. It's pretty hilarious. You also will dance (=bounce) to music every once in a while
-are experiencing a little less separation anxiety these days. You only cry sometimes when we leave the room (about half the time?). Sometimes you grab onto my shirt for dear life though.
-are definitely going to bed earlier. You usually get sleepy around 7:15-7:45 pm. Twice this week you only woke up once in the middle of the night! For the first time in 10 months, I slept 7 hrs in a row!
-still babble a lot but no definitive words yet
-are so fun! I really look forward to spending time with you each night!
